Led by multi-instrumental percussionist Philippe de Pontet, Strummin and Drummin is the DMV region's most dynamic duos for private, corporate and public events. Blending guitar, vocals and hand percussion, the duos are barnstorming the region with a unique brand of rhythmic and feel-good covers that audiences love.

Under the S&D banner, Philippe plays with a roster of the region's best singing guitarists, enabling the duos to tailor each show to the host's (or venue's) preferred genres and vibe. So Strummin and Drummin is not just a single band, but a brand with the versatility to suit almost any event or setting.

We can play the gamut from pop to rock to soul/funk to country and beyond. That customization makes us more dynamic and engaging than most cookie-cutter bands or one-dimensional solo acts.

Philippe brings over 3 decades of percussion performance to the table, with a focus on congas, cajon, djembe and shakers that give the S&D sound an organic, toe-tapping groove across all the duos. His guitar partners include top-notch gigging guitarists carefully vetted from the DMV region such as Mike Leverone, Andy Brannigan, Dylan Lee, Adam Knudsen, Matt Shuster, Kobe Ali and others (highlighted in videos above). We generally play within a 50-mile radius of Washington DC, but will go further for some events.
